33

I’m 33 today. I was getting used to being 32 but there you go, stuff like this doesn’t last.
I did kinda have the family celebration last wekeend back in Benidorm. It was not the usual lunch at home and dinner with many friends issue, but in a way it was better, if nothing else for the new-iness of it. Family dinner with sis, sis’s man and nieces? Never ever happened for my b-day. Maybe we need to start a new tradition?
Katia gave me the most marvellous card yesterday when we went to bed. She’s made it herself. It’s got this list of qualities of mine on the front face, and a great little message inside that makes me smile inside and out whenever I remember it.
She’s been great with so many things since we’ve met that I still don’t believe it can be so good… for today: she’s organized a place and a bunch of people to go for a bite tonight. My first birthday party out of Benidorm for years. I used to go home for a week or 2 around this date every year, but I’m having such a great time here with her that I definitely wouldn’t leave for more than one weekend at a time.
I used to say I missed being 24. I remembered 24 as the best year so far. I had lots of fun, loads of sex and many new experiences at 24!! It was a very good year.
But 32 hasn’t been half bad either. I ended a stage of my life and started another almost without noticing. I have managed to keep in touch with the people I care about back in Finland, I had no trouble finding new friends and reconnecting with old ones in UK and I have gone back to being a part of the life of my friends and family back home, and them a part of mine. Things have gone so well it’s almost surreal: I have found a great place to work and live, and I’ve met my match in Katia -wit, fun and love all around, so many qualities I’d fill a million birthday cards with them. All in the last few months of 32!!
I just can’t wait to see what 33 has in store. It’s going to have to be a hell of a year to beat this one.

Keskisuomalainen on ymmärtänyt koko listan ihan päin helvettiä. BBC kokosi listan luetuimmista, rakastetuimmista ja tunnetuimmista kirjoiista. Siksi mukana on Pientä runotyttöä, Da Vinci –koodia, Luolakarhun klaania jne. Ei kenenkään herran tähden *pidä* lukea esimerkiksi Juoppohullun käsikirjaa, ellei välttämättä

Mä en jaksa rustata listaa, mutta tunnustan 25, joista tosin edellämainittu jäi kesken, koska on huvittavan alun jälkeen pelkkää saman toistoa kehittymättä minnekään, ja kärpästen herra, josta en saanut kiinni, vaikka syvemmän merkityksen muka om
