Flying

I’ve been doing loads of flying lately. I’m become something of a regular on the Gatwick to Manchester line, travelling up there and getting back on the same day a few times. I’m lucky I live so close to Gatwick! Unfortunately this means going back to high-cost airlines with their superfluous extras and their pompous customers. I haven’t been so uncomfortable on a plane for a while as I was on my last return from Manchester when I got sandwiched between fat and fatter on the business class area of the cabin. I had to get business class as the was the only way to get back to London earlier -my meeting was over too quickly. I’ll take easyJet’s unallocated seating and free transfer to an earlier flight for one-day business trips any day over BA’s free stale rolls and hurried coffee squeezed within Britain’s 2 largest middle managers!
I’ve also been using Mercedes’ easyJet Staff discount to get back to Spain. I was able to go back to Benidorm for the local fiestas, the second weekend in November, and again to Barcelona last week with Katia. While in Barcelona, we met Nacho and Natalia. Since they now live in a hughe house outside Barcelona, they’re enjoying life – they’ve even bought a big R/C glider plane to fly when it’s warm outside, which is often. Katia and I can’t afford the house so we’re giving the R/C plane some thought. We can’t afford to fall behind :)
